19th Annual Grief’s Journey Remembrance Walk
The weather might have won on May 27 when our 19th Annual Remembrance Walk was originally scheduled, but we bounced back with the best weather ever on August 12. Over 300 people gathered at Miller’s Landing to celebrate the lives of loved ones no longer here. The annual walk over the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge was invigorating, the live music, provided by Mike Brock from the New Frontier Bar, was highly entertaining and everyone enjoyed the snacks, activities and comradery.
THE RAFFLE FOR THE TV WAS HELD POST RAIN EVENT. THE WINNER WAS LYSA SWAN. CONGRATULATIONS LYSA!
THE BIGGEST TEAM AWARD WAS A TIE BETWEEN THE MADDIE HUGHES TEAM AND MEMORIES FOR HECTOR. EACH TEAM REGISTERED 51 MEMBERS!
THE BEST TEAM T-SHIRT AWARD WENT TO THE DR. SEUSS SHIRTS!
THE BEST INDIVIDUAL SHIRT/COSTUME AWARD WENT TO STELLA FROM THE MADDIE HUGHES TEAM!

AND VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO THE PANCAKE MAN
Of course, this event wouldn’t even exist were it not for the Grief’s Journey staff, the Walk Committee, and the multitude of volunteers, all of whom willingly contribute their time and talents.
ANOTHER FABULOUS EVENT IS IN THE PAST, AND WE ARE ALREADY LOOKING FORWARD TO 2018. THANKS TO ALL WHO ATTENDED … WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AND MANY NEW FACES NEXT YEAR … SO NO ONE HAS TO WALK THEIR GRIEF JOURNEY ALONE.
